Get the look

Fashion designer Ravi Bajaj shows you how to make heads turn on that crucial first date.

First date for ladies: Wear something that you feel good in. It should be safe and sexy, and could be anything from a pair of jeans with a top to a fitted dress.

Pick the LBD
Have the figure to carry it off? Then go for a sexy little black dress. Wear a chiffon saree if you are more comfortable in Indian clothes.

Watch out
In case you are dressing up in Westerns, stick to a watch with a leather band. A metal band or a bejewelled piece can be jarring.

Bling factor
Sport delicate earrings and a neckpiece with your clothes. Don’t overdo it. Simplicity is the trick.

Walk in style
Avoid uncomfortable stilettos on a first date. Choose medium or wedge heels. Match the footwear with your clothes.

Men, take note
Men should wear the right attitude, shoes and perfume for a date. The jeans-andwhite shirt combo is evergreen. For Indian wear, choose a chikan kurta with churidar. A casual kurta with denims will do if you are in the Indo-Western mood.

Fashion for the eyes
fashion Don’t forget your sunglasses for a daytime date. They will not only protect your peepers, they look super stylish too.

Attitude matters
A man should wear his attitude to floor his partner. If you are not sure about the right colours, neutrals are the safest bet.

Not too high
Avoid uncomfortable stilettos on a first date. Choose medium or wedge heels. Match the shoes with your clothes.
